Neflaria Rules

General Game Rules

  1. Macroing, or using an automated program to progress for you, is prohibited.
Using "hotkey" programs, where you use keyboard shortcuts to perform actions for you, is also prohibited. If you're caught cheating, your punishment will be no less than a ban, and more than likely an IP ban. Mods will perform routine macro checks on the most active players. If you receive a macro check by a mod (their PMs will be bold), you are required to respond. Failure to do so will result in an IP ban for cheating. Mods may also check you by sending a random pop-up with a set of simply directions to follow. These directions must be followed so as to avoid the possibility of a programmed auto-response. The excuse of not seeing the pop-up or exiting the pop-up will not be accepted. Mods have other tools to test for macros and scripts without the use of macro checks. Cheating will not be tolerated.

  2. Abusing game bugs for personal gain is also prohibited, and will get you banned. If you find a bug, report it, don't abuse it!

On the same note, if you think someone is cheating, report it to a mod or admin. Accusing someone of cheating in-game is considered harassment and can get you muted.

  3. Zooming in or resizing your screen is done at your own risk.
If doing this causes you to show up on our macro detection software, you will be macro checked. If you do not respond to the macro check, you will be banned. Please make sure you can still see chat.

  4. You are ultimately responsible for what happens to your character.

-If you macro for 5 seconds, you will be banned for the entire lifespan of your character. We will not look into your character's macro history; no matter how much, for how long, you will be banned. We will not roll back.

-If you leave your password available, if someone else knows your password, or if you use some password-saving utilities in your browser, and "someone" on your character spams, macros, or performs other activities which go against the rules, it will receive normal punishment. If you think someone knows your password, change it. You are responsible for what happens on your character. There is no identity-theft protection in Neflaria.

-If you're the clan's pooler, and you get banned, the clan will not receive it's items back.

-If you have someone's borrowed gear and you get banned, the borrowed gear will not be sent back.

-If someone steals your gear, you should not have given them access to your account.

In other words, we ban characters, not people. Keep this in mind.

  5. Scamming
If you're caught scamming someone, you will be banned.
Yes, loans, payment plans, etc... are at your own risk, but if you're an obvious scammer, you will be removed from the game.

  6. Multiple Chars
Dual logging is allowed. Keyword is dual: meaning TWO and TWO only!

Chat Channels

The chat channel is for general chat. It's your average, moderated chatroom, where general conversation takes place. Roleplay is allowed in this channel. Sales-related posts, however, are not. Clan ads are allowed in Gen Chat.

The roleplay channel is where you go if you want to roleplay uninterupted, and is for serious roleplay only. For RP rules and character help, look at the Roleplay Guide

The clan channel is used to chat with your clan. The clan rules are set by your clan leader, and breaking them will result in consequences set by your clan leader. The clan channel also acts as a race chat, where you can chat with any members of your race. Whereas clan chat is not moderated by the game crew as the other rooms are, it is not to say the crew cannot act on things if need be. Though the chances of this happening are highly unlikely, it is not impossible.

Chat Rules

The Neflaria crew strictly enforce these rules, and violators will receive consequences such as mutes or bans, depending on how severely the rule was broken.

  1. English only in General chat.
  2. Due to the fact that most moderators have English as their first language, only English is to be used in General chat. You may speak whatever language you want in PMs to other players.

  3. Swearing, profanity and drug references.
  4. Swearing is heavily discouraged in all cases, however light swearing in moderation IS allowed. The 4-lettered 'C' word, however is not allowed. Swearing for the sake of swearing will get you a mute as well as directing the words at other people. Drug references of any kind are not welcome in Neflaria! Speaking of rape, molestation, or sexual abuse of any kind will result in a 12-hour mute. "I was joking" will not be accepted as an excuse. Racism and anti semitic remarks will also be met with a 12-hour mute.

  5. Trolling and Flaming.
  6. This will not be tolerated. Trolling involves a user making comments intended to provoke an angry response, and flaming is the act of posting deliberately hostile messages on the Internet. If you have a problem with someone, use the Ignore command. Provoking or saying rude things to them in chat will get you muted. Posting "You are now ignoring xx"-messages are also against this rule. Wasting a mod's time in PM's (continuing something after you've been asked to drop it, for example) will also be regarded and punished as trolling/flaming. Posting when someone attacked you and died, or any obviously trolling PK tags will be dealt with in the same manner. This includes trolling towards clans as well.

  7. Caps and Spamming.
  8. Typing messages in all-caps is a general annoyance and will likely result in you being lowercase-cursed, meaning you will not be able to use capital letters at all until it wears off. Also, do not spam chat. Typing an excessive amount of pointless letters in a row can be considered spamming. Flooding is when you enter many messages in a row, drowning out or "washing" the other messages off the screen. Just flooding chat will get you muted, flooding with malicious intent (for example, flooding a swear word) will get you banned.

  9. Arguments.
  10. There is a big difference between a logical discussion about politics, and a flame war over whose political views are more accurate. Discussions are okay, but when they become arguments, a mod will stop it.

  11. Harassment.
  12. Do not harass other players. This includes intimidating, provoking or insulting other players. If you are being tormented in PMs use the /pignore command. If you approach a mod concerning this, that is what you will be told to do as we cannot act on PMs. They are private for a reason. Teamed harassment, or many players ganging up on one player, will result in all offenders being muted.

  13. Sales, RP & All other Channels.
  14. Each channel has its own purpose. Keep general chat out of RP; Violators will be dealt with based on severity and whether or not it's a repeat offense. Light general banter is allowed in sales. Lengthy discussions or debates, however, need to remain in general chat.

  15. Other Games.
  16. This is a rather touchy subject and is often up to moderator interpretation; do not advertise for other games, and by the same token, do not bash other online games. Do bash this game either.

  17. Be Mature.
  18. These rules are here to make the game fun and exciting to those who can act mature and just want to have fun playing. Keep immature comments in clan chat or PM, please.

  19. Absent Mods.
  20. Just because a mod isn't online doesn't mean you can break rules. If someone breaks the rules and no mod is on to act on it, any player is advised to use the contact form to report it. Those players found breaking rules with no mods on will serve twice the usual punishment. If a mod finds someone who broke a rule while they weren't watching, they can still act upon it as soon as it has been proven. If you break the rules, you will serve the punishment eventually.

  21. Begging
  22. Begging is forbidden. Asking for free money/gear/gems is considered begging. Repeated offenses will lead to a mute!

  23. Selling gold IRL.
  24. Selling or trading gold outside the game is strictly forbidden. Violating this rule will get you permamuted and/or banned. This includes selling gold for money, or for items/gold in other games
    Advertising and cross-game Rules.

You should only post one advertisement per screen. This includes clan recruitment ads

No cross-game trading, or trading money for real money. If caught, your accounts will be banned.

Chat Etiquette

To make every aspect of chat fun and pleasant for all, it is asked that you follow this simple chat etiquette. Please do not whine and complain about such things as:

  1. Being PKed.
  2. If you were player killed, then you must have been in a PK-zone, thus you are fully responsible for your own well-being. To quote a wonderful saying by Cardinal Fang... "Don't whine; Find a Shrine; You'll be Fine".

  3. Not getting Drops or Masteries.
  4. This is all a matter of luck. There will be days, and weeks, where people can be unlucky. You have to remember that it is a chance to get something. It doesn't mean that it will be certain after a period of time.

  5. The cost of Items.
  6. All shop costs are standard and do not change. It is just as hard for you to get them as they once were for some of the more experienced round players. Also, do not complain about a price someone is selling an item for. It is their item, thus they can sell it for whatever amount they want to sell it for. A person could sell a tanzanite* for 1 million gold, if they wished. If they get an offer, good for them; if not, then tough luck for them.

  7. Mod Activity.
  8. If you have issue with any action taken by a member of the crew, report the incident using the Crew Contact Form. A screenshot of what happened is always useful as proof, as long as they are not doctored. Mistakes can happen. Whining about actions will get you muted once again. Logging an alternate account to whine about a crew action will result in a mute for your alt and an increased mute for your main. Negative comments towards any member of the crew, past or present, will result in a lengthy mute.

Anything not mentioned in the rules, is up to the moderators discretion.
